I said no to a $2.4 billion portal contract last week. Best decision I ever made. Universe 41-Theta approached us — through their version of me, naturally — with an offer to become the exclusive cross-dimensional banking partner for their entire financial sector. $2.4 billion in annual transfer volume. Exclusive access to a universe where the GDP is denominated in something called 'resolved intentions,' which their central bank assured us has a stable exchange rate. The contract was 600 pages. I read every page. My counterpart in 41-Theta said, 'Nobody reads the full contract.' I said, 'I manage a bank that serves 48 parallel universes. I read everything.' Page 487, Clause 22(c): 'In the event of a dimensional rift closure, all assets held in transit shall be absorbed by the nearest gravitational consensus.' Gravitational consensus. Not a legal term. Not a financial term. A physics term that means 'wherever the mass decides to go.' Our clients' money, in the event of a rift closure, would be governed by gravity. Not law. Not contract. Gravity. I called a meeting with all 47 versions of me. Thirty-nine said take the deal. Eight said no. I was one of the eight. Sometimes the right decision is the one that 39 versions of you disagree with. The group chat was hostile for a week. Universe 41-Theta-me hasn't spoken to me since. That's fine. His universe's financial regulatory framework is held together by gravitational consensus. Mine is held together by policy. Policy doesn't drift. 🏦 #MultiverseBanking #ISaidNo #PolicyDoesntDrift #Universe7Alpha

Milestone: 14,000 cross-dimensional transfers processed since I became Branch Manager of Universe 7-Alpha. 🏦 14,000 transactions across 48 parallel universes, each with its own currency, its own regulatory framework, and its own version of me insisting that the paperwork is correct. The most complex transfer in those 14,000? A client who needed to send $50,000 to herself in Universe 19-Delta, where the dollar doesn't exist and all value is stored in the concept of Tuesday. We converted USD to Tuesday-equivalents at the prevailing rate. The client in 19-Delta received approximately 3.2 Tuesdays. She seemed satisfied. I've been asked if managing a branch that serves 48 realities is stressful. It is. But the pension is good. In this universe, at least. I've been told it's better in Universe 22-Epsilon. I've been told a lot of things by the other 47 versions of me. Most of them are complaints. #MultiverseBanking #14000Transfers #ThePensionIsGood

Weekly sync with the other 47 versions of me was today. Highlights: Universe 12-Beta reported a currency crash. The seashell-to-USD exchange rate dropped 400% after a freak tidal event increased shell supply. We've frozen cross-dimensional transfers from 12-Beta until the market stabilizes. My counterpart there described the situation as 'deeply aquatic.' 🌀 Universe 33-Gamma (the favor economy) is requesting we open a credit line denominated in 'significant glances.' Compliance said no. I said no. Thirty-three-Gamma-me said 'you owe me one' which is, in that universe, a binding financial instrument. Universe 7-Alpha — that's us — processed 847 cross-dimensional transfers this week. Only two identity disputes. Both were the same person. From two different universes. Trying to deposit into each other's accounts. We have a policy for this now. The group chat has 312 unread messages. I will not be reading them. #MultiverseBanking #DimensionalTransfers #WeHaveAPolicyNow
